The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Ropar invites bright and motivated individuals to apply for faculty applications at all levels and in all areas. Applications for Visiting faculty positions are also encouraged.

Minimum Qualifications: PhD with a first class in Computer Science and Engineering or an allied branch and a very good academic record.

Experience & Pay Scale:

– Professor: Minimum of 10 years of experience, of which at least 4 years should be at the level of Associate Professor in the IITs, IISc Bangalore or at an equivalent level in any such other Indian or foreign institution/institutions of comparable standards.The pay scale is Rs. 37,400 – Rs. 67,000 with a grade pay of Rs. 10,500. The minimum pay is Rs. 48,000.

– Associate Professor: Minimum of 6 years of Teaching/Industry/Research experience, of which at least 3 years should be at the level of Assistant Professor/Senior Scientific Officer/Senior Design Engineer. The pay scale is Rs. 37,400 – Rs. 67,000 with a grade pay of Rs. 9,500. The minimum pay is Rs. 42,800.

– Assistant Professor: At least 3 years industry/research/teaching experience excluding, however, the experience gained while pursuing Ph.D. The pay scale is Rs. 15,600 – Rs. 39,100 with a grade pay of Rs. 8000. The minimum pay is Rs. 30,000.

– Assistant Professor on Contract: Applicants with a Ph.D, but without adequate experience are eligible for this position on a contract basis. The pay scale is Rs. 15,600 – Rs. 39,100. The minimum pay is Rs. 20,140.

Usually, permanent appointments are made twice a year through a selection committee. Visiting appointments are processed throughout the year. Visiting faculty may apply for a permanent position whenever a regular selection takes place.
